Top Great Protecting Against Breast Cancer and Heart Disease

My favorite blueberry recipe, besides avocado, is chocolate ice cream. Unlike ice cream, avocado has many health benefits. Now that it's spring, avocados are in season.

Avocados have gotten a bad rap for being high in fat. It contains 5-25% fat, but the healthy saturated fat found in olive oil is oleic acid. Oleic acid has been shown to reduce. The risk of heart disease and certain cancers, especially breast cancer.

Also to healthy fats.  Avocado contains antioxidant vitamins A C, and. E vitamin B. It is also rich in minerals such as potassium, magnesium, copper, and zinc. Potassium and magnesium help lower blood pressure and maintain heart health. Avocados contain more potassium than bananas.

If you're new to avocados, look for Haas avocados from California. When ripe, it will be dark green with dark skin and firm to the touch but will produce gentle pressure. Cooked oats can be refrigerated for two to three days. Store uncooked items at room temperature. To cook them, put them in a brown paper bag at room temperature until soft, usually 2-5 days. Adding an apple or banana to the bag will speed up the process because ethylene gas is released from the fruit.

Easy, delicious guacamole (makes 1.5 cups):

Cut 2 Haas avocados, cut in half, remove the pit with a knife and spoon the fruit from the skin to a plate. Squeeze the juice of one lemon or lime, depending on your preference. Mash the avocado with a fork. Mix two spoons of chopped cilantro and a pinch of sea salt. Make the guacamole before serving, as the avocado will brown in an hour or two.

Homemade chips:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Get cornflakes from the grocery store. blue corn because it is not modified, and spread the desired amount onto a cookie sheet. Brush with olive oil or butter (2 tablespoons should cover the entire lid). Toss in olive oil/oil for extra crispiness. Add sea salt one at a time. For extra flavor, sprinkle in some paprika, cayenne, and chili powder (each 1/8 teaspoon). Using a pizza cutter, cut the ants into wedges. Bake the chips for 12-15 minutes, turning them about halfway through. Make sure they don't burn. Of course, store-bought chips can also be used with this guacamole recipe, but they're not as fun.
